“I seek to produce a kind of work that is specific to the time and place of Los Angeles today; that aspires to be subtle, complex and ambivalent. The process begins with observations and sighted “signs” in my daily walk-a-about in Los Angeles neighborhoods. These are then "stacked," so to speak, pun on pun and clue on top of other clue. I reduce these fragments to an essential core, delicate silhouettes that still retain the ability to tell their stories, without passing judgement on the original content.” --Kristopher Raos
